Edicioni i fundit i MuralFest Kosova solli murale, shumë nga të cilët ishin fillimisht fotografi të shkrepura gjatë ngjarjeve historike në Kosovë. Murali i radhës i këtij edicioni i punuar nga artisti Nils Westergard shpalos imazhin e vetë fotografit Hazir Reka, figurë shumë e rëndësishme në dokumentimin e historisë së Kosovës dhe përcjelljes së saj ndër gjenerata. I mahnitur nga qëndrueshmëria dhe përkushtimi i z. Reka, autori i muralit propozoi idenë për të pikturuar këtë mural i cili paraqet vetë fotografin por njëkohësisht edhe aparatin fotografik të shfrytëzuar më së shpeshti për dokumentimin e ngjarjeve me influencë të lartë në ndërtimin e shtetit tonë të pavarur, njëkohësisht dhe luftës së fundit në Kosovë. Kjo ide u miratua nga MuralFest Kosova, dhe u mirëprit nga vetë z. Hazir Reka si dhe publiku. Jo rastësisht nuancat dominuese të muralit janë në përputhshmëri me nuancat e flamurit të Republikës së Kosovës. Kjo e fundit shërben si simbolikë për ndikimin e dokumentimit të mirëfilltë të rrethanave në ndërtimin e shtetit tonë të pavarur.Ky mural shërben si falënderim i drejtëpërdrejtë për kontributin e dhënë nga z.Reka, si dhe shtysë ndaj të gjithë të rinjve për t’i shërbyer ngjashëm situatës politike dhe shoqërore në vend.

“Hazir Reka was one of few local photojournalists who covered the war in Kosovo and the events leading up to it. His photographs captured the toll that the conflict had on the nation and its people in a tragically beautiful way and on a fiercely human level. While eventually the rest of Europe and the US sent their own photographers, Reka was photographing his fellow citizens- ultimately shooting for Reuters. Several of the most powerful murals in Ferizaj are based on images he took during this time; seeing this I wondered about the man himself. He was gracious enough to let me in his home and show me some of the photos he took over the last 25 years. These days he is locating some of the subjects of those older photos and photographing them again, giving a wholeness to the faces previously seen singularly in tragedy. The photo he took that morning was simply of leaves in the garden.

The camera he is depicted holding here was one used during the war, notably during the Reçak massacre and assault in Prekaz, which were the first events to draw significant attention from the west to the region. He took a photo of me with the same camera after I had finished the piece. The blue, white, and gold is a nod to the flag of Kosovo as well as a convenient highlight to the tool Hazir has built his life around.”
